Lexington, N.C. – A woman has been arrested following an incident early Saturday morning that involved a shooting and a vehicle collision during a domestic dispute. The suspect, identified as Tinisha Nelson Coleman, 45, is facing multiple charges after allegedly shooting a 61-year-old man in the head shortly after 5:30 a.m.

According to authorities, multiple 911 calls were made from a neighborhood near South Main Street, particularly on Snider Avenue, Peacock Avenue, Austin Street, and Stamey Avenue. Callers reported that two vehicles were ramming each other, and also noted hearing gunfire during the altercation. Police arrived to find the gunshot victim next to a car that had crashed into a house on Peacock Avenue.

In addition to the gunshot victim, officers discovered a wreck scene nearby on Snider Avenue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for anyone inside the homes affected by the incident. The only significant property damage noted was the house struck by the vehicle.

Details of the Incident

During the domestic dispute, Coleman was driving a white 2013 Volkswagen Passat, while the victim was operating a silver 2002 Saturn. The two vehicles reportedly collided multiple times before the shooting occurred. Witness accounts suggest that Coleman shot the man once in the head while both cars were parked on the roadway. Following the gunfire, the victim reportedly backed up at high speed, resulting in the vehicle crashing into the residence on Peacock Avenue.

Coleman was taken into custody and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. She is currently being held at the Davidson County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 14. The victim is receiving treatment at a local hospital; however, no updates have been provided on his condition as of yet.
