News Summary

Azur Restaurant and Patio in Lexington, KY, will reopen on May 23, 2025, after a five-month closure. New head chef Nathan Vazquez aims to infuse Puerto Rican flavors into the menu while retaining classic favorites. The restaurant will feature an updated look, a seasonal menu, and a revamped cocktail selection, including the beloved Azur Old Fashioned. With seating for 125 guests and an outdoor patio, Azur is expected to continue its legacy as a local dining staple.

Lexington, KY – Azur Restaurant and Patio will reopen its doors on May 23, 2025, after a five-month hiatus that began in December 2024. The popular eatery, situated at 3070 Lakecrest Circle #550, has been a staple in the community for the past 20 years.

The closure of Azur came as a result of unsuccessful lease negotiations, leaving fans of the restaurant eager for its return. Owners Sylvia and Bernie Lovely have decided to revive the establishment with an updated look and a revised menu that aims to enhance the dining experience while keeping some beloved favorites.

One of the significant changes at Azur will be in the kitchen, with Chef Jeremy Ashby departing to join Dupree Catering at the Main on Main event venue. Stepping in as the new head chef will be Chef Nathan Vazquez, who hails from Puerto Rico. Chef Vazquez plans to integrate elements of Puerto Rican cuisine into Azur’s new menu, introducing unique spices and savory dishes that promise to bring new flavors to the table.

Despite the introduction of new culinary influences, many of Azur’s classic dishes will remain, ensuring that loyal customers can continue to enjoy favorites such as bourbon fried chicken, truffle fries, tagliatelle with vodka sauce, and woven shrimp. The menu will also reflect a seasonal approach, changing in accordance with the availability of fresh produce sourced from local farms in Central Kentucky, as explained by general manager Taylor Huston.

The cocktail menu has also undergone updates, featuring fresh new concoctions; however, regular patrons will be pleased to know that the popular Azur Old Fashioned will still be available. The revamped restaurant boasts a seating capacity for approximately 125 guests, including a spacious covered patio that enhances the dining atmosphere.

In terms of operational hours, Azur will welcome guests Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Friday and Saturday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and on Sunday offering brunch from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM followed by dinner service from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The possibility of returning lunch hours later this year has also been mentioned by management as part of future plans for the restaurant.

For those eager to keep up with the latest news and updates from Azur, the restaurant encourages following their Facebook page at facebook.com/AZURrestaurantandpatio, where announcements regarding special events and menu changes will be shared.

This reopening marks an important moment for the Lexington dining scene, as Azur has carved out a special place in the hearts of many in the community. The combination of its enduring tradition and a fresh new direction holds the promise of continued success for the beloved restaurant.
