Lexington, Kentucky – Delta Air Lines Resumes Non-Stop Flights from Blue Grass Airport to New York City on May 7, 2025

Blue Grass Airport is set to resume non-stop daily flights to New York City starting May 7, 2025. The flights will be operated by Delta Air Lines and will arrive at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. This marks an important milestone as it is the first time Blue Grass Airport has offered year-round flights to New York since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to reinstate these flights comes in response to persistent requests from travelers who have shown a strong desire for more direct options to New York City. With the revival of this service, local passengers are encouraged to take advantage of available flights.

Flight Schedule and Booking Information

The non-stop flights from Blue Grass Airport will operate six days a week, from Sunday to Friday. The departure schedule includes:

  • Departure from Lexington (LEX) at 6:55 a.m., arriving in New York (LGA) at 8:57 a.m.
  • Return flight leaving New York (LGA) at 7:45 p.m., arriving back in Lexington (LEX) at 9:51 p.m.

Travelers can begin booking tickets through delta.com starting on November 23, 2024. Round-trip flight prices may vary, with one example fare being $424.52 before taxes and fees as of May 9.

Additional Destination Options

Along with the newly reinstated New York City route, Delta Air Lines also provides non-stop flights from Blue Grass Airport to other major cities including Atlanta, Detroit, and Washington, D.C. Furthermore, the airport features several seasonal flights through different carriers and has recently offered services through Allegiant Air to popular destinations in Florida.

Seasonal Flights and Community Support

To accommodate travelers wishing to visit New York City before the regular service begins, special flights are scheduled for the holiday season on December 20 and 22. These flights will provide additional opportunities for locals to connect with one of the nation’s busiest metropolitan areas.

Delta Air Lines has maintained a partnership with Blue Grass Airport for over 78 years, which highlights their commitment to serving the needs of the local community. The return of the non-stop flights to New York City is expected to boost travel options for residents and promote connectivity between Lexington and the broader northeastern U.S.
