In the home, investigators discovered five handguns that were manufactured outside of Kentucky, reinforcing the federal charge against Sharp concerning interstate firearm possession. Witnesses indicated that the suspects were seen carrying bags into the residence prior to the shooting and that the firearms did not belong to them. Surveillance footage has also confirmed Sharp entering the home post-incident with a firearm.
In a related matter, Lexington Police are investigating another shooting incident where six suspects are being sought in connection with a shooting that injured a juvenile near Elm Street and Charles Avenue. A teenage victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries resulting from this shooting that took place around 4 p.m. Residents in the area are urged to check their surveillance footage and provide any pertinent information regarding the incident. A separate shooting on Kearney Ridge Boulevard also resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries to a victim.
