Lexington, Kentucky – Three Charged After Shots Fired and Stolen Vehicle Found

Three individuals have been charged following gunfire reported in Lexington early Tuesday morning. The Lexington Police Department stated that the incident took place around 12:15 a.m. on April 15 near Cambridge Drive, prompting a police response that ultimately led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

Officers on patrol reported hearing shots fired in the vicinity of Cambridge Drive. At the same time, an alert was received about a stolen vehicle located in the area of Alexandria Drive and Leestown Road. Shortly thereafter, an officer found the stolen vehicle in the 1300 block of Alexandria Drive.

In connection with these events, 19-year-old Antonio Sparks was arrested and charged with several offenses, including:

  • Receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000
  • Fleeing or evading police in the second degree
  • Violation of conditions of release
  • An unrelated warrant

As it stands, Sparks is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

In addition to Sparks, two juveniles were also arrested during this incident. A 16-year-old faces charges of:

  • Receiving stolen property
  • Fleeing or evading police
  • Possession of a handgun by a minor

A 14-year-old is facing the same charges as well. Both juveniles are being held at a juvenile detention center.

The Personal Crime Section of the Lexington Police Department is currently investigating the incidents further. They are looking into the circumstances surrounding the gunfire and the stolen vehicle, aiming to gather more details about the event.
