This individual was later transferred to Albany Medical Center, where she is currently listed in critical condition. In connection with this stabbing, police apprehended 38-year-old Kinyetta Gordon at Albany Medical Center, where she was receiving treatment for a cut to her hand. Gordon has since been charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon and is now held in Albany County Jail.
This violent spate follows an earlier incident on June 11, when a 67-year-old man named Freddie Richard Lynem Jr. was fatally stabbed in Lexington. A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with that case, facing charges of murder, first-degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence, and receiving stolen property under $500. The teenager is currently being housed in a juvenile detention center. All individuals involved in the Lynem case have been identified, and investigators state that there are no outstanding suspects.
The Fayette County Coroner is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Lynem’s death, which police reported occurred after he was stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Following the incident, two male suspects fled the scene, described as being in their late teens to early twenties. One suspect was last seen wearing black pants and a white t-shirt, while the other wore black clothing with white shoes.
