Jessamine County – Jay Corman, 38, son of Kentucky railroad executive RJ Corman, has been arrested on multiple charges, including first-degree criminal trespassing, first-degree burglary, and third-degree terroristic threatening. The incident occurred in the early hours of April 4, when local law enforcement responded to a trespassing complaint at approximately 2:30 a.m. near Jessamine Station.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an empty black Cadillac SUV parked nearby, with the driver’s door left ajar. Police quickly located Corman pacing outside the residence. Despite directives from the officers to remain outside, Corman allegedly re-entered the home. Law enforcement, aware of his reported history of carrying a firearm, issued multiple commands for him to exit the dwelling. When he did not comply, officers deployed a Taser to subdue him.
Individuals inside the residence informed authorities that Corman had forcibly broken through the front door. Inside, he reportedly made threats to “put a gun to their heads” and allegedly threatened to kill the occupants on numerous occasions. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the encounter.
The case was presented to a grand jury on April 14, as law enforcement continues to gather further information regarding the incident. Corman’s arrest has raised attention not only due to his familial connections but also because of the serious nature of the allegations against him.
Witnesses stated that the sequence of events began with a complaint to the authorities regarding Corman’s presence on the property. The swift response by local law enforcement helped mitigate the situation. Officers arriving on the scene acted based on the visible behavior of Corman and the statements made by the individuals inside the home.
Corman now faces multiple legal challenges with the charges filed against him. The severity of these accusations could lead to significant legal repercussions if found guilty. As the case proceeds, the grand jury will decide how to handle the charges, considering the evidence and testimonies collected during the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing, and further developments are expected as authorities seek to gather complete insights into Corman’s actions and motivations.
